Mourning doves continue to use the back of the television on my patio to build their nest with twigs from nearby trees and plants, The male spends as much time as the female in the hatching process, Normally they have two or three eggs, and the male and female spend equal time sitting them until they are ready to hatch. At other times each one will take off for food and rest. It's a joy to watch this process from my kitchen window. They leave a little mess. but not enough for me to chase them away, when I can get so much enjoyment from watching and taking pictures. They or the chicks will return to the nest to make a new one or fix up the one they have used before. They will do this about 3 times a year.
