Milagros (Miracles) or Exvotos (offerings in Europe) , are small metal religious charmes found in many areas of Latin America and Europe. They are typically pinned to crosses or wooden statues, or tied with ribbons to altars, or statuary, as a prayer to heal the items depicted, arms, legs, animals, etc. They are also carried by people as good luck and safe passage.
